A guide to the Tamriel Tome
Free vs Premium vs Premium+
Free
As shown in the image above, for most players the free Tamriel Tome will allow you to earn what you were able to get prior to seasons including 8000 Seals. On average this awards more than you would have earned in the previous Endeavor system. You will also earn 9000 Trade Bars and a bunch of Consumables, Styles Pages, in-game Currencies and some Crown Crates.
Premium
Buying the Premium Tamriel Tome will allow you to earn all free rewards plus bonus Trade Bars, in-game Currencies, and Consumables. It will also award Mounts, Pets, and Skills styles. Overall, not a bad value for 14.99 USD/EUR
Premium+
While the Premium does present a good value for money the Premium+ Tamriel Tome presents the worst possible value for money. This includes the premium and free rewards but only adds 1 new costume and 4000 Tome Points (Used to purchase rewards in the tomes, but you will earn these from weekly challenges). For an additional 15 USD/EUR cost (a total of 29.99 USD/EUR) this is the worst option and highly recommended to avoid.
Challenges
Overview
Challenges are how we earn Tome Points – This is the currency used to purchase items from the Tamriel Tome. There are Seasonal Challenges that will be added throughout the season and will typically have a higher total yield and Weekly challenges that will be added weekly, these are random and you will get 5 new challenges per week.
Weekly Challenges
The weekly challenges are random challenges that you can complete to earn Tome Points. Weekly Challenges generate randomly, and you can re‑roll each one up to five times. After progression on a challenge begins, it can not be re‑rolled. Weekly challenges won’t expire but you can only hold 12 quests at a time.
Weekly Challenges award different amounts of Tome Points. For example, Defeat Knight Commander Panthius gives 105 Tome Points per completion and can be done 5 times, for a total of 525 Tome Points. Meanwhile, Complete 1 Incursion can be completed 6 times but only awards 60 Tome Points each time, for a total of 360 Tome Points. So it is possible to optimise this but be careful as you could end up with worse options and no re-rolls!
Seasonal Challenges
Seasonal Challenges are challenges that will be appear through the season. Some of these challenges will be time limited, for example the Anniversary Jubilee: Earn Gift Boxes will only be available while the Anniversary Event is active. These challenges will typically have higher Tome Point rewards but will also require more effort and time to complete.
Tome Points
This is a new type of currency earned from Weekly and Seasonal Challenges. These are used to buy items from the Tamriel Tome and also to unlock further pages. Each 2000 Tome Points will unlock a new page.
As the image above shows, 1000 Seals can be bought from the Tome for 250 Tome Points.
Tome Points expire at the end of each season. Only a maximum of 2000 Tome Points will carry over to the next season.
You can also get Tome Points from “Caches of Tome Points” awarded from purchase of Premium+ or from each month subbed to ESO+. These caches can be opened to progress the Tome faster but once opened they will expire at the end of the season. Unopened Caches can be kept indefinitely.
If you don’t plan on spending the Tome Points, don’t open your caches. It is recommended to save these until the end of the season and only open them if there is something you can’t earn before the current season ends.
Tamriel Tome
Overview
Tamriel Tomes are essentially a Battle Pass system. All 12 pages will have a free track and a paid track. All items will have a Tome Point cost associated with them.
The free track contains previously free rewards for retired systems like Seals and Trade Bars. Previously “Seals of Endeavor” and “Event Tickets” respectfully.
The premium track will contain mounts, pets and rewards you would typically expect to see in the Crown Store.
The premium version does have 1 extra bonus, if you buy the premium pass it will not expire. You will still be able to spend future Tome Points on Tamriel Tomes you have previously bought.
The premium+ version just adds a single new costume and 2 “Caches of Tome Points”. Please be aware this does not add anything extra to the Tome itself. The costume and caches are awarded immediately upon purchase and the Tome is essentially the same as the 14.99 Premium Tome.
Another way to earn a Premium Tome is through ESO+. For each month of payed ESO+ time you will be given 1 Premium Tome Point, when you have 12 of these Premium Tome Points you will be able to purchase 1 Premium Tome. All Premium Tome Points will be awarded at the time of purchase if you subscribed for more than 1 month.
Premium Tome Points and Caches have been awarded to ESO+ subscribers from January of 2026 retroactivly.
